“Get some rest. If you haven’t got your health then you haven’t got anything.”
– Count Rugen from The Princess Bride
It’s been a worrisome couple of days for me. Without going into too much detail let’s just say that something happened Sunday night that made me make an appointment with a certain specialist at 6:30 the next morning. But the worries were for naught – I am happy to say that everything is fine!
The last few years have been rocked by some scary moments. My mom’s first and second near-death bout with Evan’s Syndrome, the sudden deaths of two childhood friends a week apart from each other, and my mom’s ER visit this past July and the subsequent discovery of massive cirrhosis of her liver.
The thing is it’s always been someone else I’ve worried about. I worried about how to be supportive. I worried about how people were going to get along afterwards. I worried about putting on a brave and positive face for others.
It was weird worrying about myself.
Is that weird?
Whatever, you’re weird!
So although things are good I do want to make sure that I stay healthy.
